The Tactical Defense Caucus (TDC) is a small but active caucus within the Anarchist Black Cross Federation. We hope to provide information about self defense, which is not otherwise readily available, to the left in general, anarchists in particular, and the ABCF primarily. While the TDC focuses its efforts on armed self defense, we encourage activists to become familiar with, learn and study self defense on all levels. We participate in many forms of self defense ourselves.. Our decision to focus our outreach primarily on armed self defense is based on several factors, but by no means do we feel armed self defense is the only answer. In fact, we believe it is the last, and least desirable answer. True as this may be, we also recognize that on the occasion when armed self defense is the only answer, it is much too late to learn.
